How do interlibrary loans work?

Answer

Interlibrary loans (ILL) allow us to borrow books that Davis County Library does not own from libraries throughout the nation for you to read.

To request an Interlibrary loan, visit the library in person or contact us by phone.

Due dates for ILL books are set by the library that owns the book. Borrowing an interlibrary loan does not cost you a fee. Ordering an interlibrary loan and then failing to pick it up by the due date when it arrives will charge you a $3 no-pickup fee. We cannot guarantee being able to borrow a particular title; availability depends on other libraries being willing to send us a copy. Weber county residents cannot order interlibrary loans using their Davis County Library card, but the Weber County Library also offers an interlibrary loan service they may use with a Weber County Library card.
